What We Look For In Our Mentors
Not everyone is suited to becoming a host studio. You've got to WANT to share your knowledge and have PASSION for the Pilates Profession.
As a host studio, you are a mentor to the student teachers and it's up to you to guide them through the program to success.
A good mentor is a great communicator, is empathetic, shows compassion, is good at breaking down complex information and enjoys being with people.
A good mentor is a natural born leader, has a growth mindset and is motivated to support people learning by showing up as their best.
As well as the personality traits of a great mentor, you need to be:
- Certified in Pilates instruction (reformer and mat)
- A member of Pilates Association of Australia
- A First Aid Certificate
- Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance
- At least 2 years of Pilates teaching experience

I suffered from back pain for as long as I can remember in my younger years and was always looking for ways to get through the week. I found Pilates, and I have never looked back. I became a teacher because I want to share my journey by helping others.
I run a profitable Pilates studio and health retreat in Darwin and am the only Pilates educator in Northern Australia who is recognised by The Pilates Association of Australia. Now, I'm fuelled by a purpose to help studio owners maintain their autonomy, fight back against low-cost franchise alternatives and help individuals live a life of meaning through movement education.
