Frequently asked Questions

Where is Bali?

Bali is the most famous of the  thousands of islands in the Indonesian archipelago . The busy island of over 4 million residents has been a tourist favorite for decades. It’s certainly the  top destination in Indonesia. The wide beaches in the south and lush, volcano-dominated interior attract close to 3 million foreign tourists per year!

How do I get there?

Denpasar International Airport (airport code: DPS), officially Ngurah Rai International Airport, is Indonesia’s second-busiest airport. Fortunately, the little airport was renovated in 2013 and 2014 making it both beautiful and more able to greet the many arriving passengers.

The airport serves as a hub for Jetstar, Wings Air, Garuda, and Indonesia AirAsia — four airlines with flights servicing all of Indonesia and  Southeast Asia . Direct flights can be found from Europe, the Middle East, China, Japan, Australia, Russia, and other places.

Where is the workshop?

Canggu is a resort village on the south coast of the Indonesian island of Bali, approx 40min from the International Airport. It’s surrounded by terraced rice paddies and known for beaches like Canggu and Echo, an eclectic expat community offering the best restaurants, accommodation and friendly vibes on the island. The nearby Seminyak resort area has high-end shops and restaurants. Just south of Seminyak, the beachside town of Kuta is known for its nightlife. North of Canggu, Tanah Lot is a Hindu temple that sits just offshore on a rocky outcrop.

Getting around

Bali is cheap cheap cheap when it comes to transport. You can hire your own personal driver for as little as 500,000 rupiah ($50AUD) per day or a taxi will cost you a couple of bucks from A to B. We have some reliable, friendly and English speaking guides in Bali who will be happy to serve you. Once you are booked in to the workshop let us know and we will introduce you to a driver who will meet you at the airport and service your transport needs. If you opt for a taxi, stick to the Bluebird branded cabs and ask your driver to use the meter.

Is Bali safe?

As with any international travelling, we encourage you to travel with care. Bali is a popular tourist destination and is set up for easy transport. We do not recommend you hire a scooter and instead choose a Bluebird Taxi or arrange a driver with your hotel. Bali is as safe as you are smart and your experience depends on your attitude and the way you treat others. The Balinese people are mostly Hindu which is a very peaceful religion so if you are kind and courteous you will have a wonderful time. We recommend you travel with insurance that will cover you for any accidents or incidents for peace of mind.

Does Bali cater to my dietary requirements?

Did somebody say FOOD? Take me to Bali and I will take you to some of the best restaurants you have ever been. Bali is an island of excellence, including food. You will find cuisine from all over the World. You can be vego, vegan, pescatarian, keto, or a meat lover and you will find your favourite food within reach… and you really can’t go past the Nasi Goreng while in Bali.

What else can I do while in Bali?

Bali is a playground for the adventurous and a haven for the relaxed. You can get immersed in culture, surf at sunrise or spa all day every day. With World class waves, renowned DJ’s and internationally acclaimed restaurants to name a few. Here are some of our go to places on the island:
